In principle, all our wood comes from India and without exception from certified cultivation. The woods are grown in plantations and monitored and approved by the Indian State Forest Service.

What many people don't know is that there are several hundred types of ebony and rosewood all over the world. Unfortunately, many of the world's ebony and rosewood species, especially African ones, have been considered endangered for many years.

Therefore, instead of using the endangered Indian rosewood (Dalbergia Latifolia), we use the non-endangered tamarind wood (Tamarindus indica), also known as Indian dates. The second type of wood that we use is East Indian ebony (Diospyros melanoxylon), which, unlike African ebony, is not considered to be endangered.

We also want to give something back to nature and therefore plant a tree in India for every Monkey Locks - Locking Tuners Set with wooden buttons sold.

A detailed review of our picks is available at Amazon!

Important information - be sure to read!

Why are the edges and tip rough and why does the pick need to be broken in?

The Monkeygrip material is rough , similar to fine sandpaper . It's made of high-performance polyamide . This provides excellent grip and feels simply fantastic.

But why are the edges and tips of the picks rough? Why aren't they sanded and polished like other manufacturers?

It's quite simple. It's intentional! We noticed one thing during our tests: Every guitarist holds their pick differently . Likewise, the angle and surface of the pick are unique for each guitarist.

Therefore, we decided that every guitarist would polish the edges and tips of their picks themselves! It's entirely up to their individual playing style!

It's quite simple. Our Monkeygrip material is a high-performance polyamide that becomes smooth after a short break-in period . After that, the material seals , and the pick lasts an extremely long time!

So our picks are polished where YOU individually strike and retain their grip where YOU grip the picks!

How long does the break-in period take?

This is, of course, individual . It depends on how hard you hit the strings and which strings you play. Generally, you can say that the picks are broken in after 3 to 6 songs , and the tips and edges have adapted to your personal playing style ! This only wears down the rough surface and the material seals. After that, the pick will last an extremely long time!

Extreme durability - How long do the picks last?

As mentioned above, the material seals after the break-in period , making the pick extremely durable . Our picks aren't hard, but rather extremely tough. This makes them the perfect performance machine , and you'll enjoy them for a very long time .

Why is there hardly any hand fatigue? How could weight play a role here?

First of all, almost no one would imagine that weight could play a role in picks. But it does! Because when playing for long periods of time and with intense play, minimal weight can make a huge difference. And the thicker the picks, the more dramatic the difference!

Our 3.6 mm pick is even hollow inside! This is unique worldwide and allows us to produce by far the lightest pick in the world of this size!

Because our picks are made of extremely lightweight and tough high-performance polyamide , you'll notice the difference compared to conventional picks made of Delrin or nylon. Your playing hand is simply less likely to fatigue and cramp!

Megalight Monkeygrip Guitar Picks

We produce our picks here in Bavaria from a special high-performance polyamide . This makes them extremely durable and has a slightly rough, sandpaper-like surface. This results in excellent grip (along with our embossed logo)! The picks are also extremely lightweight , reducing hand fatigue and cramping .

Due to their slightly rough edges and tip, these picks require a short "break-in" period before developing their full potential ( this is intentional, so you can customize the pick to your individual playing style – see the detailed explanation above ) ! Completely different from anything that's come before!

Victor Smolski now only uses our Speedster Picks:

"The picks are simply amazing! The high-performance polyamide picks are lightweight and have a great grip, whether you are cold or sweating. Thanks to their pointed shape and the very durable material, they have a very good
Grip. For all those who play with a lot of attack and value the audibility of
every note, the picks are the perfect tool."
