Left vs right tuner? What is a left and what is a right guitar mechanics / locking tuner?

  1. Look at the guitar mechanics / locking tuner from the front.
  2. The front is where you can see the Guitar Monkey logo.
  3. If the neck of the guitar machine head / locking tuner (marked in red) is on the left side, it is a left guitar machine head / locking tuner (bass side).
  4. If the neck of the guitar machine head / locking tuner (marked in red) is on the right side, it is a right guitar machine head / locking tuner (treble side).

Of course, the same applies to bass mechanics!

Bass vs treble side tuner? Why bass or treble side of guitar machine heads / locking tuners?

It's simple: Imagine a 3l +3r guitar headstock like you find on classic single cut guitars. Here you have 3 left guitar machine heads to which the bass strings are attached, which is why left guitar machine heads are also called bass side guitar machine heads. The treble strings are attached to the right three guitar machine heads, which is why these guitar machine heads are also called bass or treble side guitar machine heads.

Of course, the same applies to bass mechanics!
