In principle, all our wood comes from India and without exception from certified cultivation. The woods are grown in plantations and monitored and approved by the Indian State Forest Service.

What many people don't know is that there are several hundred types of ebony and rosewood all over the world. Unfortunately, many of the world's ebony and rosewood species, especially African ones, have been considered endangered for many years.

Therefore, instead of using the endangered Indian rosewood (Dalbergia Latifolia), we use the non-endangered tamarind wood (Tamarindus indica), also known as Indian dates. The second type of wood that we use is East Indian ebony (Diospyros melanoxylon), which, unlike African ebony, is not considered to be endangered.

We also want to give something back to nature and therefore plant a tree in India for every Monkey Locks - Locking Tuners Set with wooden buttons sold.

Why Monkey Locks Locking Tuners - Single Tuners

You can purchase our Monkey Locks locking tuners individually here. The tuners have 1.8 mm string holes as standard. If you would like the tuners with 2.3 mm string holes, please email us shortly before ordering, stating the number of tuners with larger string holes you require. Please note: We only recommend the 2.3 mm holes for tuners with wound strings!

Our Monkey Locks - Locking Tuners are suitable not only for electric guitars, but also for acoustic guitars or lap steel/pedal steel guitars. They fit any guitar with a 9.9mm to 10mm headstock hole diameter and 135-degree or 90-degree screw lug holes. Of course, you can also drill new screw holes for your Monkey Locks.

Our locking tuners are characterized by their compact design and low weight. The 18:1 gear ratio guarantees excellent handling and precise tuning. Open-style guitar tuners are often susceptible to dirt and wear, but not our Monkey Locks. Thanks to their closed design, the locking tuners are maintenance-free (no oiling required) and impervious to dirt. We call the clamping wheel on our locking tuners the Snapping Wheel because it automatically engages when screwed on and can therefore never fall off, so you can always rely 100% on your Monkey Locks, even in live situations when changing strings.
