6 good reasons for our Silverback Vintage Tuners - Leonidas guitar tuners

Vintage Oval Metal Buttons

Vintage Correct Oval Metal Buttons.

No line housing

Our Leonids Vintage Tuners are replicas of the originals as they were built between 1953 and 1956. The No-Line steel case therefore has no lettering.

15:1 gear ratio

The old originals only had a 12:1 transmission ratio in the early 1950s and a 14:1 in the late 1950s. Here we have literally upped the ante (in the gearbox) and adjusted the transmission ratio to 15:1 to enable sensitive and pleasant tuning.

Steel meets Steel!

Vintage correct steel case, steel pin and steel baseplate.

Suitable for almost Strat & Tele style guitars with both 8.5 mm and 10 mm hole diameters

We offer our Leonidas Vintage Tuners with both 8.5 mm and 10 mm press-fit sleeves. Our vintage tuners are therefore suitable for vintage guitars and modern guitars.

quality and packaging

Every single tuner and button is checked again before shipping and the result is recorded on your quality card!

For us, the most sustainable packaging is also the one that can be reused, which is why we only use our premium doypacks.

Our Silverback Vintage Tuners - Leonidas vintage guitar tuners

Our Leonidas Vintage guitar tuners from our Silverback Vintage series are a homage to the vintage guitars of Fender's pre-CBS era as found on many Strats and Teles of the time. What many do not know, Leo Fender's real name was Clarence Leonidas Fender.

Our Leonidas vintage guitar machine heads are replicas of the old originals from the pre-CBS era as they were built between 1953 and mid-1956. In addition to the design and the high-quality nickel coating, we also use vintage-correct materials. The base plate and the housing as well as the post are made of steel, just like the old originals. The old originals only had a 12:1 transmission ratio in the early 1950s and a 14:1 in the late 1950s. Here we have literally upped the ante (in the gearbox) and adjusted the transmission ratio to 15:1 to enable sensitive and pleasant tuning. The press-fit sleeves are made of solid nickel-plated brass, just like the originals.

Our Leonidas vintage tuners fit many vintage-style Strat and Tele guitars. We offer our Leonidas vintage guitar machine heads for vintage style guitars with 8.5 mm holes, but also for modern guitars with 10 mm holes.
