7 good reasons for our Silverback Vintage Tuners - Paulus guitar machine heads

Vintage Keystone Tulip Buttons

Vintage Correct Plastic Keystone Tulip Buttons.

Vintage correct 19.5 mm posts for sound & sustain like the original vintage models

An extremely important component for the great sound and outstanding sustain of old vintage Gibson guitars is the low height of 19.5 mm posts of the guitar machine heads. This increases the string pressure on the saddle enormously and you can feel and hear it! In contrast to many other manufacturers, we attach great importance to this important detail.

No-Line - Single Ring

Our Paulus Vintage Tuners are replicas of the originals as they were built between 1953 and 1956. The No-Line steel housing therefore has no lettering and the Keystone Tulip buttons only have one ring (single ring).

15:1 gear ratio

The old originals only had a 12:1 gear ratio at the beginning of the 50s and a 14:1 gear ratio at the end of the 50s. Here we have literally stepped up our game (in the gearbox) and adjusted the gear ratio to 15:1 to enable sensitive and pleasant tuning.

Steel meets Steel!

Vintage correct steel case, steel pin and steel base plate.

Suitable for almost all Les Paul & SG style guitars with both 8.5mm and 10mm hole diameters

We offer our Paulus Vintage Tuners with both 8.5 mm press-in sleeves and 10 mm press-in sleeves. Our vintage tuners are therefore suitable for vintage guitars and modern guitars.

quality and packaging

Every single tuner and button is checked again before shipping and the result is recorded on your quality card!

Likewise, for us the most sustainable packaging is the one that can be reused, which is why we only use our premium doypacks.

Our Silverback Vintage Tuners - Paulus Vintage Guitar Machine Heads

Our Paulus vintage guitar machine heads from our Silverback Vintage series are, as the name suggests, replicas of the old originals as they were built between 1953 and mid-1956 and were mainly found on Gibson Les Pauls and Gibson SGs.

In addition to the design and the high-quality nickel coating, the vintage-correct materials are particularly noteworthy. In addition to the base plate and the housing, the post is also made of steel, just like the old originals. Like the originals, the press-in sleeves are also made of nickel-plated and solid brass.

Our Paulus vintage tuners fit many vintage style Les Paul and SG style guitars. We offer our Paulus vintage guitar machine heads for vintage style guitars with 8.5 mm holes, but also for modern guitars with 10 mm holes.
