  • 1. Remove the strings from your guitar

In a first step, remove all the strings of your guitar/bass with the wire cutters.

  • 2. Loosen and remove bushings and washers

Use the wrench to loosen all bushings. Then remove the bushings by simply pulling them out together with the washers.

  • 3. Loosen and remove screws

With the Phillips screwdriver you loosen all screws of the mechanics and remove them. Be careful not to let the mechanics fall out.

  • 4. Remove the old mechanics

Now remove the old mechanics by carefully pulling them out.

Now would be the right time to completely clean the headstock of your guitars. Use a soft polishing cloth and guitar polish.

  • 5.1 Use new mechanics - for basses + 6-string guitars

For 6-string and 12-string guitars, as well as for all bass guitars, there is no order in which to install the individual tuners in our tuners. Any mechanic can be used in any location.

  • 5.2 Using new machine heads - for 7 to 10-string guitars

With our monkey locks for 7 to 10-string guitars, however, there is an order that you have to pay attention to.

These machine heads have 2.3mm (0.090inch) string holes for the bass strings. Therefore, use this for the respective string that is on the sticker.

  • 6. Tighten the screws

After you have inserted all mechanics, you simply screw their screws back on with the Phillips screwdriver.

  • 7. Insert bushing and washer and tighten

Place the washers over the bushings and screw the bushings back over the pin of the mechanics. Then you tighten the sockets again with the wrench.
