In principle, all our wood comes from India and without exception from certified cultivation. The woods are grown in plantations and monitored and approved by the Indian State Forest Service.

What many people don't know is that there are several hundred types of ebony and rosewood all over the world. Unfortunately, many of the world's ebony and rosewood species, especially African ones, have been considered endangered for many years.

Therefore, instead of using the endangered Indian rosewood (Dalbergia Latifolia), we use the non-endangered tamarind wood (Tamarindus indica), also known as Indian dates. The second type of wood that we use is East Indian ebony (Diospyros melanoxylon), which, unlike African ebony, is not considered to be endangered.

We also want to give something back to nature and therefore plant a tree in India for every Monkey Locks - Locking Tuners Set with wooden buttons sold.

Our Megalight Bass tuners

Our bass tuners with Megalight Monkey Grip buttons are unique on the market. The buttons are all Made in Bavaria - Germany! They are made from a high-performance polyamide and are therefore extremely light (around 2 grams per button) and therefore further reduce the weight of our already very light bass tuners. The feel and surface structure of the buttons are completely unique. The rough surface is somewhat reminiscent of sandpaper and provides a great grip and is so pleasant to touch that you'll always want to touch the buttons. The look is of course also an eye-catcher. Our colored aluminum rings underline the finish of your bass guitar and bring a subtle play of colors to the headstock of your bass guitar. Our colored aluminum rings are also unique on the market and only available from us.

Our Guitar Monkey Megalight Bass tuners fit any bass guitar with a 13.8mm to 14mm hole diameter in the headstock and screw tab holes at 90 degrees, although you can of course also drill new screw holes.

Our bass mechanics are characterized by their compact design and low weight. The gear ratio of 20:1 guarantees excellent handling and precise tuning. Tuners with an open design are often susceptible to dirt and wear, but not our bass tuners. Because of the closed design, our bass mechanics are maintenance-free (no oiling required) and are not susceptible to contamination.
